Energy issues and Turkey’s provocative actions in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) will be the focus of meetings which Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides will have on Tuesday, May 7, in Paris, where he will pay a one-day visit.
CNA has learned that the Foreign Minister, who will meet, among others, with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian and Stephane Michel, President of Middle East / North Africa, Exploration and Production Division of Total energy company, will also discuss, during his meetings, about the Cyprus problem, issues regarding the relations and cooperation between Cyprus and France, as well as the issue of France’s participation in the trilateral cooperation scheme among Cyprus, Greece and Egypt.
According to the programme of his visit, Christodoulides will meet, early on Tuesday afternoon, with the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed forces of the French Senate Christian Cambon.
After that Christodoulides will hold talks with Le Drian, to be followed by a meeting with the Secretary of State for European Affairs Amelie de Montchalin. Later on he will meet with the Secretary of State to the Minister of the Armed Forces GeneviAve Darrieussecq.
In the evening, Christodoulides will have a meeting with the President of Middle East / North Africa, Exploration and Production Division of Total Stephane Michel. Michel will be escorted by Total officials Elias Kassis and Arnaud Suquet.
Christodoulides will leave Paris on Wednesday morning.
