FM Permanent Secretary to hold consultations in Helsinki on bilateral relations, situation in Ukraine and Cyprus problem

Cyprus Foreign Ministry, Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Kornelios Korneliou, departs on Tuesday for Helsinki where he will pay a working visit, during which he will discuss among others bilateral relations between Cyprus and Finland, developments in Ukraine and the Cyprus problem.

According to a press release issued by the Foreign Ministry, during his visit to the Finnish capital, Korneliou will hold consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland with his Finnish counterpart, Jukka Salovaara, in the presence of official delegations from the two countries’ Foreign Ministries.

The political consultations are expected to focus, inter alia, on bilateral relations and the prospect of their further deepening, the developments in Ukraine and EU’s coordinated response, the way our side perceives the next steps in the Cyprus issue as well as other regional and international issues of common interest, the press release added.

Korneliou and Salovaara will also exchange views on issues related to the European agenda, such as climate change, the “Fit for 55” initiative for the green transition, and the European Political Community, it concluded.
