Cyprus Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides hosted on Tuesday an Iftar Dinner in honour of Ambassadors hailing from countries of the Muslim world, based in Nicosia, on the occasion of Ramadan. The Minister conveyed the Presidents determination for further enhancement of bilateral ties and the bonds of friendship.
Christodoulides told the Ambassadors that the dinner is an excellent opportunity for every individual, regardless of religion, to reaffirm his or her commitment to the universal values of mutual respect, unity, tolerance and acceptance and the collective obligation to strive for the promotion of peace , justice and dignity.
He added that the dinner on the occasion of Ramadan, has been established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an annual tradition and it demonstrates the respect and recognition by the Republic of Cyprus of the importance of Ramadan for Muslims. The Minister also expressed health and happiness to the Ambassadors and their families.
