First four volumes of the “Cyprus File” will be handed over to Greek PM and President on Wednesday

The first four volumes of the “Cyprus File”, the result of lengthy discussions at the Hellenic Parliament in cooperation with the House of Representatives on the Cyprus problem, are set to be handed over to Greeces President Prokopis Pavlopoulos and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Wednesday.

Reliable sources have told CNA that the Hellenic Parliaments Speaker Nikos Voutsis will be handing over the first two volumes first to Pavlopoulos and then to Tsipras.

The first four volumes are set to be published in the coming days, while the rest of the volumes will be published at a later stage.

In total the material which will be released is 32 volumes, each numbering between 500 to 600 pages.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkey invaded and occupied its northern third. Repeated rounds of UN-led peace talks have so far failed to yield results. The latest round of negotiations, in July 2017 at the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana ended inconclusively.
