European Parliament hosts three-day seminar on the Future of Europe

The future of Europe will be the focus of a three-day seminar, organised by the European Parliament in Brussels from 17-19 October, with a view to generating a debate between media actors and leading MEPs as well as Commissioners Christos Stylianides, responsible for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, and Dimitris Avramopoulos, responsible for Migration and Home Affairs.

During the seminar, there will be an opportunity to discuss the role of the European Parliament in the future of Europe, hear the position of the political groups in the EP and be briefed on moves by MEPs to render the EU more responsive, effective and democratically accountable, with emphasis on overhauling its institutional set up.

On Monday evening, five Cypriot MEPs – Lefteris Christoforou (DISY-EPP), Neoklis Sylikiotis and Takis Hadjigeorgiou (AKEL-GUE).
