European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen assured that she will convey to the EU the need for a rescEU centre in Cyprus, something which will benefit the Republic of Cyprus and the countries in the region.
She was speaking after a meeting on Thursday with President Nicos Anastasiades at the Presidential Palace where he handed him the positive assessment of Cyprus` recovery and resilience plan, worth €1.2 billion in grants and loans under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
