Cypriot European Champion Marios Georgiou earned the title of “Medal Collector” at the European Gymnastics Championships in Rimini, Italy. Georgiou made history by clinching four medals, two of which were won within an hour’s difference.
Georgiou’s impressive performance on Saturday added two more medals to his tally. Initially competing in the Parallel Bars, he secured the silver medal with a score of 14,866 points, while Ukrainian Kovtun Illia claimed gold with 15.633 points and Swiss Seifert Noe took bronze with 14,833 points.
Later, Georgiou competed in the Horizontal Bar, where he won the bronze medal with 14,366 points. Ukrainian Kovtun Illia once again claimed gold with 14,600 points, while Lithuanian Tvorogal Robert secured silver with 14,566 points.
Georgiou, previously crowned European Champion, had secured gold in the Individual All-Around with a total score of 84,265, earning him a spot in the Olympic Games. On Friday, he also won the bronze medal in Pommel Horse.

nce in Rimini, Georgiou now boasts a total of six medals in European Championships throughout his career, including bronze in the Individual All-Around in 2019 and gold in the Horizontal Bar in 2022.
