EU Defence Ministers focused on Strategic Compass during informal meeting, Cyprus Minister says

EU’s Defence Ministers discussed the process of developing a Strategic Compass for the European Union during a joint meeting with the EU’s Foreign Ministers held in the context of the informal meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council in Brest, France, as a part of the French Presidency of the Council of the EU.

Cyprus was represented by Defence Minister Charalambos Petrides and Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides.

The discussion among the Defence Ministers focused on current issues concerning the EU’s Common Defence and Security Policy, as well as on the challenges faced by the EU due to the intervention of state and non-state agents in regions where the EU has operational involvement.
