Energy, bilateral and trilateral cooperation at meeting between Foreign Minister and Israeli official

Trilateral cooperation, bilateral ties and developments in the energy sector were discussed at a meeting held on Thursday in Nicosia between Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides and Israeli Deputy Minister in the Prime Ministers Office, Michael Oren, who is paying Cyprus a working visit upon an inviation by the Cypriot side.

During the meeting they reviewed bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, giving emphasis on the added value of the trilateral cooperation between Cyprus, Greece and Israel. They also discussed developments in the energy sector in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as issues concerning the EU – Israel relations.

According to a press release by the Foreign Ministry, Christodoulides and Oren exchanged views on how to further enhance their mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of public diplomacy.

The Cypriot Foreign Minister had the opportunity to brief in detail the Israeli official on the state of affairs of the Cyprus issue in the light of the recent developments.

Their discussion continued during a working lunch.
