EMU Student Adem Cavu?o?lu Breaks TRNC Record

Whilst coming third in Turkey, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Health Sciences Faculty, Department of Sports Sciences third year student Adem Cavusoglu broke the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) record in javelin with a throw of 60.83 metres. EMU student Cavusoglu broke Hamis Cakir’s previous record at the 18th Seyfi Alanya Throwing Cup which took place in Mersin’s Nevin Yanit Athletics Complex. Cavusoglu also holds the TRNC youth records with a throw of 57.17 metres. After his latest achievement, Cavusoglu was congratulated and awarded a plaque by EMU Health Sciences Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoc along with the Vice-Deans and Department of Sports Sciences academic staff.

EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam also received Adem Cavusoglu in his office. EMU Health Sciences Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoc and Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation academic staff member / Department of Sports Sciences Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dr. Berkiye Kirmizigil were also present during the visit during which EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam congratulated the athlete, wishing the continuation of his success and noting that EMU will continue to support successful athletes.
