Doctors and nurses placed under the instructions of the Minister of Health

Doctors and nurses are placed under the instructions of the Minister of Health, according to the new decree issued on Thursday by the Minister of Health.

The regulations of the new decree will be effective as of 06.00 am of 20 March 2020.

Based on these regulations, all doctors who are registered in the Medical Registry, on the entry into force of this Decree, are placed under the instructions of the Minister of Health performing the tasks assigned to them.

In addition, all nurses who are registered with the Nurses Register, on the entry into force of this Decree, are placed under the instructions of the Minister of Health performing the tasks assigned to them.

It is noted that the names of the doctors and nurses will be posted at the Ministry of Health website www.moh.gov.cy and/or they will be informed in other way decided by the Minister.

As stated in the Decree, they should be present at a specified time period not be less than 24 hours and at a place to be determined on a case-by-case basis order to perform the tasks assigned to them.

If doctors and nurses belong to the vulnerable groups then they will be assigned other tasks related to the works of the Ministry of Health or be generally excluded from duties at the discretion of the Minister.
