Discussion on internal aspects of the Cyprus problem underway in Crans-Montana

A discussion on the internal aspects of the Cyprus problem began on Wednesday evening, in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, where the Conference on Cyprus is taking place. The discussion is attended by the leaders of the two communities of Cyprus, namely Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci.

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias also arrived at the conference centre where the talks are taking place, without making any statements. According to sources, Kotzias is going to have later a meeting with the UNSGs Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide. Currently he is having a meeting with the EU High Repesentative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, who arrived in Crans-Montana today to participate later tonight to the discussion on the issue of security and guarantees.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu also arrived at the venue where the talks are being held without making any statements.

Earlier on Wednesday, the negotiators of the two sides Andreas Mavroyiannis and Ozdil Nami had a meeting with Eide.
