Deputy Ministry of Shipping signs contract for the digitization of its services

The Deputy Ministry of Shipping announced on Friday it has signed a contract for the digitization of its services, a move welcomed as “an important step” to the effort to further strengthen the efficiency of the Deputy Ministry.

The contract, signed with the CSC Consortium (Cellock Ltd, SignalGenerix Ltd and Computer Resources International (Luxemburg) S.A.), following a tender process, concerns the digitization of the Deputy Ministry’s services, a press release said. The €1.68 million project, which is financed by the EU through the Recovery and Resilience Facility, is expected to be completed within 21 months.

Deputy Minister of Shipping, Vassilios Demetriades, said, according to the press release that, this was an important step to the effort to further strengthen the efficiency of the Deputy Ministry, by creating the framework for more direct and quality service but also form the strongest basis to shape “the one-stop-shipping-shop framework”, which, he said, was a standing demand of the shipping industry. He also said, that, with the full digitization of the services of the Deputy Ministry, they will be able to operate in a paperless environment.
