Deposits increase while loans decrease in May

The deposits in the Cypriot banking system increased in May 2017 after a decline last month, while the deleveraging of the Cypriot economy continued with loans recording a decline during 19 months in the last two years. According to an announcement by the Central Bank of Cyprus, total deposits in May 2017 recorded a net increase of Euros 168,8 million, compared with a net decrease of Euros 155,4 million in April 2017.
