Defence Minister to meet with his French counterpart in Paris

Defence Minister Christoforos Fokaides departs on Sunday for Paris, where he will have a meeting with the new Minister of Armed Forces of France, Sylvie Goulard.

A press release issued by the Press and Information Office says that the two countries signed two months ago a new Defence Agreement, which expands and enhances the bilateral defence relations.

It also noted that Cyprus and France have also deepened their relations at European level, in view of the new initiatives undertaken for the strengthening of the defence cooperation in Europe.

Minister Fokaides returns to Cyprus on Tuesday morning, where, in the afternoon, he will welcome his Italian counterpart, Roberta Pinotti, who will pay an official visit to Cyprus. Pinotti will also be received by the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades.
