In his intervention, Minister Fokaides expressed Cyprus’ support to the promotion of the EU’s Global Strategy, and pointed out that the Strategy should be translated into practical steps, tools and policies that will enable the Union to effectively address the wide range of challenges and protect the safety and the interests of the European citizens.
There is no doubt, he said, that more and better cooperation is needed in a constantly changing world, where the home and the foreign safety of the states are becoming even more interrelated.
He further underlined Cyprus’ commitment to continue working systematically and productively for the promotion of the common European interests and the promotion of the cooperation both in international and regional level for the achievement of the common goals in the framework of the EU’s Security and Defence Policy.
