Cyprus trade deficit reaches 2.0 billion euro in January – May 2017, according to Eurostat

Cyprus total exports in the period January to May 2017 amounted to 1.0 billion euro, declining by 16% compared to the same period of 2016. Exports to the EU worth 0.4 billion euro recorded a 46% drop, while exports to the rest of the world worth 0.6 billion showed an increase of 35%. Meanwhile, total imports to Cyprus amounted to 3.0 billion euro, a 6% increase since last year, 1.9 billion from the EU (-9%) and 1.2 billion for the rest of the world (46% increase).
