Cyprus to host Balkan Water Polo Games and Mediterranean Open Sea Cup 2019

Cyprus will be hosting the Balkan Water Polo Games and the Mediterranean Open Sea Swimming Cup (COMEN) in 2019, decisions taken respectively by the Balkan Federation and the Committee of Mediterranean Countries.

According to the Cyprus Swimming Federation (KOEK), the decisions were taken during the meetings of the Committees, which were held in Budapest, in the framework of the European Swimming Federation Congress (LEN).

KOEK was represented by President Alexandros Christophorou, honorary President of the Federation and COMEN Secretary Panicos Prokopiou, and Member of the European Open Sea Committee Petros Arestis.

The KOEK delegation had the opportunity to meet with representatives of the Greek and Israeli delegations, to discuss cooperation and other issues.

The delegation also met with representatives of the Portuguese Federation and agreed on Cyprus’ participation in a European sports schedule.
