Cyprus students rank 3rd in Europe in alcohol consumption ESPAD report finds

Alcohol consumption among students in Cyprus, stands well above the EU average, according to the ESPAD – European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug addiction Report, published today in Lisbon. Cyprus places 3rd among 48 countries.

The ESPAD (European School Survey Project on Alcohol and other Drugs) found that the Cypriot students (from the government-controlled areas, as the reports clarified) reported higher levels 68% (compared to EU average 48%) of alcohol use in the last 30 days, including heavy episodic drinking at 50% (compared to 35% EU average).
