Cyprus reports one more death from COVID-19, 463 new cases, 274 people are in hospital on Saturday

Authorities in Cyprus reported one more death on Saturday from COVID-19 and 463 new cases out of a total of 31,677 tests with the positivity rate standing at 1.46%. At the same time, 274 COVID-19 patients are treated in hospital, 71 of whom in a serious condition.

 

In a press release, the Ministry of Health said that total deaths from the disease have reached 313, 206 men (66%) and 107 women (34%) with a median age of 78. Total cases since the beginning of the pandemic 66,372.

 

The deceased was an 80 year-old man who had received the first dose of the vaccine and passed away at Nicosia General Hospital.

 

Out of the 71 patients who are in a critical condition, 8 are treated in an ICU without the help of a ventilator and 34 are treated in an increased care unit.

 

In total 31,677 tests were carried out on Saturday, 7,076 by PCR method
