Cyprus reports 4 more deaths, 259 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday

Cyprus authorities have announced another four deaths from Covid-19 and 259 new coronavirus cases out of 13,231 tests carried out on Wednesday. At the same time, 197 people are receiving treatment for the disease across the island, 58 of whom in a serious condition.

Total deaths in the Republic have reached 157, 106 or 68% men and 51 or 32% women. The median age of people dying is 80. Total confirmed cases so far are 27,897.

The positivity rate is 1.96%.

According to a Ministry of Health press release the four people who passed away are a man 60 years of age who was being treated at Nicosia General ICU, one man 91 years old who was being treated at Limassol General Hospital and a woman 84 years of age who was being treated at Famagusta General Hospital, all with underlying health conditions and a man 78 years of age without reported underlying
