Cyprus records two deaths and 559 new Covid cases on Tuesday

Cypriot health authorities announced two deaths and 559 new Covid-19 infections on Tuesday, bringing the total tally of fatalities and infections to 264 and 48,837 respectively.


The Ministry of Health said in a press release that a total of 49,383 tests were carried out today with daily positivity rate rising to 1.13%, while 205 Covid patients receive treatment in state hospitals.


The deceased persons are a woman aged 74 and a 62-year old man with no vaccination history, both with underlying diseases, who died while being treated in Limassol General Hospital. Total deaths since the inception of the pandemic in Cyprus reached 264 of which 175 male and 89 females, the Ministry added.
