Cyprus President travels to Israel for meetings with Herzog and Netanyahu

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades is traveling to Israel on Tuesday afternoon for an official visit, during which he will be awarded by the President of the country.

An announcement says that the President of the Republic departs in the afternoon from Sharm el-Sheikh, where he participated in COP27 and in an event of the Republic of Cyprus on the Initiative for climate change in Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East region (EMME).

In Israel the President of the Republic will have a meeting Wednesday with the winner of the recent elections Benjamin Netanyahu.

Later he will be received by the President of Israel Isaac Herzog and will be awarded with the Presidential Medal of Honor, which is the highest honor awarded by the State of Israel.

Afterwards, President Anastasiades will sign the guest book at the Presidential Palace and will attend an official lunch, hosted by the President of the State of Israel. President’s spouse Andri, will accompany him.

In the afternoon, President Anastasiades and the members of the Cyprus delegation will depart for Paris, where he will have a meeting with the French President Emmanuel Macron and will participate in the Forum for Peace.
