Cyprus President sends condolences to Russia over “hideous attack” in St. Petersburg

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades has sent a letter of condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin, expressing sorrow for the victims of the “hideous” terrorist attack in St. Petersburg and condemning “this cowardly act”.

“Devastated by the tragic loss of innocent lives, as a result of the terrorist attack at the St. Petersburg metro station, I express on behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Cyprus my deepest condolences to the families of the victims and my sincere wishes to those injured for a speedy recovery” President Anastasiades notes.

“I strongly condemn this cowardly act and, at this difficult moment, I express our wholehearted solidarity to the friendly people of Russia” he adds, noting that “our thoughts are with you and with the families of the innocent victims”.
