Cyprus President sends condolences on death of Ciampi

The President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades sent on Tuesday a letter of condolence to the President of Italy Sergio Mattarella, for the death of former Prime Minister and President of the Republic of Italy Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.

According to an official announcement, the President conveys in his letter his grief over the sad news regarding the passing of Ciampi, noting that “he will be remembered as a great personality, a responsible politician whose life was entirely devoted in serving Italy, as well as promoting with passion the values of the EU”.

He finally extends his sympathy to the government and the people of Italy and his condolences to the family of Ciampi, on behalf of the government and the people of Cyprus.
