Cyprus President has telephone conversation with Greek Premier about Turkish NAVTEX

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades has had a telephone conversation with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras regarding the renewal of the Turkish NAVTEX in Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone.

Reliable sources have told CNA that the President convened a meeting at the Presidential Palace at 19.15 local time (17.15 GMT) to discuss the next moves in addressing the situation caused by Turkey’s decision to renew a NAVTEX it had issued, which is set to expire on Thursday.

On Wednesday morning the President will preside over a meeting of the council of the leaders of the parliamentary parties, instead of holding separate meetings with them as initially announced last week.

The meeting will begin at 0930 local time.
