Cyprus President and Saudi Minister discuss ways to further expand bilateral relations

Ways to further deepen and expand bilateral cooperation, which is constantly being strengthened, were discussed by the President of the Republic of Cyprus and the Saudi Minister of Investment, Khalid Al Falih, during a meeting they held Saturday in Nicosia. They also expressed their willingness to collaborate in the fields of shipping, tourism, information technology and communications, financial services, and energy, Government Spokesman Constantinos Letymbiotis says in a written statement issued after the meeting. President Christodoulides and the Saudi Minister also noted both sides’ willingness to move forward with the completion of the remaining pending agreements in sectors such as tourism and higher education, and noted the mutual desire of the two governments to establish a framework of cooperation so that, in addition to strengthening bilateral cooperation, private sector participation is encouraged. They also welcomed the fact that direct flights between the two countries are expected to start next month. The Cypriot President extended an invitation t? the Prince of Saudi Arabia to visit Cyprus.
