Cyprus police report 42 individuals for COVID-19 measures violations

Cyprus police reported 42 individuals in the last 24 hours out of 1,868 spot checks across the island for violations to do with measures in place to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. No establishments were found to be violating the measures.

 

According to data by the police press office, in Nicosia district, out of 425 spot checks 13 individuals were reported. In Limassol district out of 181 checks one person was reported. In Larnaca out of 500 checks 14 individuals were reported, while in Pafos out of 210 checks 5 individuals were reported.

 

In Famagusta district out of 431 checks 6 people were reported, while in the region of Morphou out of 121 checks 3 individuals were reported.

 

The Cabinet decided recently that face masks must be worn outside at all times. Stricter measures to contain the pandemic were announced in all districts and a partial lockdown including a ban on movement between 11pm and 5am was decided for Limassol and Pafos. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Cyprus has recorded 4,563 coronavirus cases.
