Cyprus police issue 36 fines for COVID-19 measures violations

Police in Cyprus fined 25 citizens and 11 establishment owners, during the last 24 hours, in the context of checks regarding the implementation of measures in place to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

A police press officer told CNAthat 4.708 checks were carried out across Cyprus. Most citizens were handed out a fine because they did not use protective face masks or because they did not have a safepass while visiting public places and other premises.

In Nicosia during 2.839 checks 8 individuals and 5 owners of establishments were fined, in Limassol during 267 checks 12 individuals were fined, in Larnaca during 519 checks 4 persons were fined, in Paphos during 424 checks 6 owners of establishments were fined, in Famagusta during 290 checks 1 individual was fined, while in Morphou the police reported no one during 190 checks that were conducted.
