Cyprus MP receives Cuban House delegation

Cyprus Parliamentarian Nicos Tornaritis, Vice Chair of the Foreign and European Affairs Committee met Friday with Suselis Morfa Gonzales, member of the Council of State and Secretary General of the National Bureau of the Young Communists League of Cuba.

Morfa Gonzales was accompanied by Cuban Ambassador Omar Leyva Rafull and Juan Miguel Cruz, Head of International Relations of the Young Communists League.

During the meeting the two sides spoke of the traditionally friendly relations between Cyprus and Cuba and their Parliaments and of the solidarity in the struggles the peoples of the two countries.

Tornaritis expressed gratitude about Cubas stance towards the Cyprus problem and briefed Gonzales on the Turkish provocations in Cyprus exclusive economic zone.

Morfa Gonzales thanked the Cyprus MP about the countrys stance as regards the US embargo.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkish troops invaded and occupied 37% of its territory.
