Cyprus MP attends WTO committee deliberations in Brussels

Cyprus Parliamentarian Averof Neophytou, head of the Cypriot delegation at the Inter-Parliamentary Union, participated on Thursday in the deliberations of the 51st Session of the Coordinating Committee of the Parliamentary Conference of the World Trade Organization, at the European Parliament in Brussels. A Parliament press release says that the members of the Coordinating Committee carried out a comprehensive overview of the participation of the parliaments in the discussions of the issues related to international trade. They also agreed to promote best practices, as well as undertake parliamentary activities to strengthen the work of the WTO. The members of the Committee also attended the regular session of the EP’s Committee on International Trade and they were briefed by a WTO representative on the latest developments in the field of multilateral trade negotiations.
