Cyprus lends support to French initiative for a global environment pact

Cyprus supports a new French initiative to create a global environment pact, Minister of Agriculture Costas Kadis assured the Ambassador of France in Cyprus Rene Troccaz.

According to a Ministry announcement, distributed by PIO, the two men met on Wednesday to discuss environmental issues, laying particular emphasis on the French initiative aiming at a comprehensive institutional framework to tackle all environment-related challenges on a global scale.

Kadis also assured Troccaz of Cyprus’ support to the French initiative on climate change, following the conclusion of the 2015 Paris climate agreement and informed him of all the action taken in Cyprus to fulfill the goals set for the 2020-2030 period.

The two sides agreed finally to explore the potential for cooperation in agriculture, the announcement concludes.
