Cyprus, Jordan and Greece tripartite ministerial meeting to be held on Wednesday

The tripartite ministerial meeting between Cyprus, Greece and Jordan will take place on Wednesday with the participation of Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides, Ayman Safadi Jordans Minister of Foreign Affairs and Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Georgios Katrougalos.

The meeting will be held at the Presidential Palace and the Foreign Ministry with the participation of delegations from the three Ministries.

A Foreign Ministrys announcement said that before the tripartite meeting, Safadi and Katrougalos, accompanied by Christodoulides, will be received by President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades at 12.30 local time (1030 GMT). Consultations will continue during a working lunch of the Ministers and their delegations. The three Ministers will make statements to the press at 14.15 (1215 GMT) at the Presidential Palace.

The aim of the tripartite meeting will be to review progress achieved in the framework of cooperation between the three countries, coordinate the next steps and possibly expand to new fields of common interest such as Education and innovation. It will also prepare the summit which will take place in Jordan in the first half of 2019.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Christodoulides will hold bilateral meetings with his Jordanian counterpart and Katrougalos during which they will discuss the latest developments on the Cyprus issue and Cyprus’ EEZ.
