Cyprus issue, energy and defence cooperation on agenda of 2nd Cyprus-Serbia Intergovernmental Conference

Cyprus issue, Kosovo, energy matters and defense cooperation will be on the agenda of the 2nd Cyprus-Serbia Intergovernmental Conference which takes place on Friday in Nicosia.

Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou told the press that the Conference contributes to the constant development of the excellent historical ties between the two countries, adding that on Friday the two sides will sign a number of agreements and will issue a joint Declaration.

Prodromou said that the Conference was agreed to take place in Nicosia during the official visit of President Nicos Anastasiades to Belgrade last May. He referred to the historical, political and cultural ties between the two countries , pointing out that the Conference reflects these relations which will be further developed.

Serbian President Aleksand?r Vucic will be accompanied by the two Vice Presidents of his government, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Interior, as well as the Ministers of European integration, Energy, Education, Science and Technology and other officials.

The Cyprus delegation is headed by President Anastasiades with the participation of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Energy, Education , Interior and other state officials.

The delegations will also discuss issues related to trade cooperation, tourism, investments, EU-Serbia relations , migration and regional developments.

The two Presidents will hold a tete-a-tete meeting to be followed by consultations between the delegations of the two countries.

They will also make statements to the press. A working lunch will follow.
