Cyprus House President, Annita Demetriou, travels on Tuesday to Brussels to attend a Meeting of Women Speakers of Parliaments of the European Union that will take place on October 12, at the EU parliament, at the invitation of EP President, Roberta Metsola, and the President of the Czech parliament, Markéta Pekarová Adamová.
According to a House press release, the Meeting is a follow up of the Meetings of Women Speakers of Parliaments of the European Union that took place last April and May, with a view to exchange views and best practices as well as to look into ways of providing tangible help to women, children and old refugees from Ukraine.
In the framework of their programme, the Speakers will exchange views with the EP President and will attend the inauguration ceremony of an exhibition of the Polish Lower House on “The women of Ukraine”.
The House President will return to Cyprus on October 13.
