Cyprus House of Representatives President, Annita Demetriou, signed on Thursday the condolences book, which opened in the European Parliament`s Office in Cyprus, for the death of President of the European Parliament, David Maria Sassoli.
In her message, the House President says that “the European family has prematurely lost an important figure, a warm supporter of the European ideas, European integration, democracy, human rights and rule of law, a progressive leader with a vision, that he served tirelessly and selflessly.”
“David Maria Sassoli placed the person at the centre of his efforts for a Union of solidarity and justice, approachable to citizens, even in these difficult conditions created by the pandemic,” says the House President.
