Cyprus Health Ministry announces new COVID19 case

A new COVID19 case was announced Thursday by the Cyprus Health Ministry. It is the seventh confirmed case in the Republic. One more case was announced in the occupied northern part of the island.

An announcement by the Ministry says that the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics which runs all the tests on the island, has briefed the authorities today on the new case which is a passenger who returned from the UK recently and yesterday had symptoms of the virus. The individual contacted the authorities which immediately followed the protocol.

The individual is in self isolation and the authorities are trying to trace its contacts.

The Ministry calls once again on people to contact 1420 only in emergency cases when they need to inform on symptoms and not for any general information.
