Cyprus’ harmonised inflation at 1.7% in June 2018

Harmonised Inflation in Cyprus stood at 1.7% in June 2018 compared to June 2017, on the basis of the Harmonized Price Index (HICP). According to a press release by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, compared to May of 2018 the Index increased by 1.0%.

For the period January-June 2018 the HICP remained stable compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

Compared both to the index of June 2017 and to the index of the previous month, the largest change was noted in Transport with percentages 6.8% and 2.9% respectively.

For the period January – June 2018, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the largest change was noted in Clothing and Footwear (-3.3%).

As regards to the economic origin, the largest change when compared both to the index of June 2017 and to the index of the previous month, was observed in Energy with percentages of 9.8% and 3.5% respectively.
