Cyprus, Greece and Jordan sign agreements on renewable energy resources, cultural heritage and seafarers

Cyprus, Greece and Jordan signed on Tuesday agreements for cooperation on renewable energy resources, the protection of cultural heritage and on the recognition of the training and certification of seafarers, in the framework of their first Trilateral Summit that was held in Nicosia and was chaired by the President the Republic Nicos Anastasiades, King of Jordan Abdullah II, and Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras.

More specifically Ministers signed a memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Environment and Energy of the Hellenic Republic, the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for Cooperation in the Field of Renewable Energy Sources. They also signed an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Cyprus, the Government of the Hellenic Republic and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the Prevention of Theft, Clandestine Excavation and the Illicit Import, Export or Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property and the Promotion of its Restitution

Additionally, the signed an arrangement between the Department of Merchant Shipping of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works of the Republic of Cyprus and the Jordanian Maritime Commission concerning the recognition of the Training and Certification of Seafarers from Jordan, for Service on Cyprus Flagged Vessels and an Arrangement between the Department of Merchant Shipping of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works of the Republic of Cyprus and the Jordanian Maritime Commission concerning the recognition of the Training and Certification of Seafarers from Cyprus, for Service on Jordanian Flagged Vessels.

Moreover they signed an Undertaking concerning the Recognition of Training and Certification of Seafarers for Service on board Vessels Registered in the Hellenic Republic between the Government of the Hellenic Republic and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and an Undertaking concerning the Recognition of Training and Certification of Seafarers for Service On board Vessels Registered in Jordan between the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Government of the Hellenic Republic
