Cyprus Foreign Ministry condemns Tehran attacks

The Republic of Cyprus condemns unequivocally the abhorrent terrorist attacks in Tehran on Wednesday against innocent people and the country’s parliament.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry notes the Republic of Cyprus’ resolve to contribute to countering terrorism in the framework of the international coalition.

It also expresses condolences to the families of the victims and wishes for speedy recovery of the injured.

Suicide bombers and gunmen attacked the Iranian parliament and the Mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini in Tehran on Wednesday, killing at least 12 people in a twin assault. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
