Cyprus FM holds telephone conversation with UK Minister for Europe

Cyprus Foreign Minister, Ioannis Kasoulides, had on Thursday a phone call with the UK Minister for Europe, James Cleverly.

The Foreign Ministry said in a post on Twitter that the two officials had useful discussions on timely issues with particular emphasis on bilateral relations, international issues, the Cyprus problem and the upcoming Commonwealth Summit.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkey invaded and occupied its northern third. Repeated rounds of UN-led peace talks have so far failed to yield results.
