Cyprus FM and Qatar’s Ambassador discuss bilateral relations, developments in the region, Cyprus problem

Cyprus Foreign Minister, Nikos Christodoulides, received on Monday, at the Foreign Ministry, the newly accredited Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Cyprus, Ali Yousef Al Mulla.

According to an MFA post on Twitter Cyprus-Qatar bilateral relations, the latest developments in the region and the Cyprus problem were amongst the issues discussed.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkish troops invaded and occupied 37% of its territory. Numerous rounds of talks under the UN aegis to reunite the island under a federal roof failed to yield results.
