Cyprus Electricity Authority slashes electricity prices by 10% for two months

The Cyprus Electricity Authority (CEA) announced it is reducing electricity price by 10%, following a decision of the Cyprus Regulating Authority (CERA) to accept a proposal from the government.

The government proposal was part of the measurers to boost businesses and households affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a decision by CERA, the reduced prices will be implemented for a period of two months and will apply for monthly consumers whose consumption is measured in the end of March and for bi-monthly consumers whose consumption is measured on April 1 2020.

CEA also said in a press release that the decision will be evaluated before the expiration of two-month period on the basis of the situation concerning the coronavirus epidemic.
