Cyprus Defence Minister to take part in EU Defence Ministers Council in Bratislava

Cyprus Minister of Defence Christoforos Fokaides departs on Monday for Bratislava, Slovakia to attend the two-day EU informal Defence Ministers Council.

The EU Defence Ministers will be briefed by Federica Mogheniri, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, on the implementation of the defence aspects of the EU Global Strategy on Foreign and Security Policy.

“The discussions is particularly important as it takes place in a crucial period where terrorism, illegal trafficking in persons, organised crime, internal instability in the Europes wider region and other unconventional threats necessitate joint action from EU member-states in close collaboration with other international actors,” an official press release notes.
