Cyprus Defence Minister calls on Turkey to stop its unyielding stance

It is time for Turkey to stop its unyielding stance and to return to the path of dialogue and take practical steps to solve the Cyprus problem, said on Sunday Defence Minister Charalambos Petrides.

In a speech at the unveiling of the 1974 Monument of Heroes and Martyrs of Angastina at Latsia in Nicosia district, Petrides said that the Turkish invasion and continued occupation has not weakened our morale.

We must continue, he added, to demand our rights and for a country without occupation troops, threats, or blackmail, “where the principles of freedom, justice and democracy will prevail in a reunified homeland.
