Cyprus’ debt at Euros 20.74 billion in end 2019

Cyprus central government debt declined to Euros 20,739 million in December 2019, marking a reduction of Euros 330 million compared with end-2018, according to new data released by the Ministry of Finance Public Debt Management Office (PDMO).

The short term debt redemption for the fourth quarter of 2019 amounted to Euros 206million, while repayment for retail securities amounted to Euros 22million.

In December 2019 a domestic bond amounting to Euros 750million matured. Loan amortizations amounted to Euros 45 million, PDMO added.
