The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ioannis Kasoulides, has departed for Strasbourg where tomorrow Tuesday, 22 November 2016, he will officially take over the six-month rotating Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe at a special session during which the Minister will present the priorities of the Cypriot Chairmanship.
During his stay in Strasbourg, Mr Kasoulides will hold separate meetings with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Mr ThorbjA�rn Jagland, and the President of the European Court of Human Rights, Mr Guido Raimondi. He will also attend the inauguration of the exhibition entitled “Crisis – Challenge”, to be hosted at the Council building. Moreover, the Foreign Minister will attend the inauguration of the tram in the colours of Cyprus at the Droits de l’Homme station. He will then go to the “Place de la Republique” where, as per tradition for all countries assuming the Chairmanship, the flag of Cyprus will be raised; an event during which Minister Kasoulides will deliver a speech.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs will return to Cyprus on Thursday, 24 November 2016.
