Cyprus announces οne death and 79 new COVID-19 cases

Cyprus Health Ministry announced one death from COVID-19 and 79 new cases on Tuesday. The positivity rate stands at 0.18%. It also announced that 97 patients are in hospitals, 37 of whom are in serious condition.

 

The total deaths in Cyprus are 357 and the total cases since the pandemic broke out are 72,090.

 

Today`s cases were detected from a total of 43,347 tests (PCR and rapid).

 

The deceased is a 77 years old man who passed away at Limassol General Hospital. From the 357 deaths, 238 are male (67%) and 119 female (33%) and their median age is 78 years.

 

From the 37 patients in serious condition, the 24 are intubated, 5 are in ICU and 8 in ACU.

 

From the 43,347 tests, 5,035 were PCR and 38,312 rapid tests.

 

The cases were detected as follows: 12 from 221 samples from contact tracing process, 1 from 2,4
