Cyprus and Israel hold political consultations in Nicosia

The Cyprus problem, cooperation in the energy sector, the trilateral cooperation between Cyprus, Israel and Greece as well as other current regional developments were among the issues discussed during the political consultations held, on Monday, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between the ministrys Permanent Secretary Alexandros Zinon and his Israeli counterpart Yuval Rotem, a Ministry press release says.

“During the consultations, which are held in the context of the regular dialogue between the two countries, matters discussed among others were the Cyprus problem, the cooperation between Cyprus and Israel in the energy sector and the trilateral cooperation with Greece,” the press release adds.

Zinon and Rotem also exchanged views on the Middle East Peace Process, the situation in Turkey and other regional developments such as what is happening in Syria and Iran, it continues.

At the same time “the very good level of relations between the two countries was reaffirmed,” it concludes.
