Cyprus and Ireland discuss promoting bilateral relations

President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris and Ireland’s Minister of State for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection Pat Breen stressed the significant role which the parliaments of the two countries can play in developing bilateral relations.

Breen and visiting Syllouris, were informed on the economies of the two countries and stressed the significance of increasing investments in various sectors such as tourism, research and innovation, a House of Representatives press release said.

The two sides also discussed the need to further promote educational cooperation especially at university level.

Syllouris referred to Cyprus’ role as a bridge of cooperation between the Middle East and European countries.
